A few days ago Guillermo del Toro announced he had a big announcement to make on a new project he was working that involved the letter Dhe will partner with the Walt Disney Company to leverage that imagination and produce new films under the label “Disney Double Dare You.” Announced at the company’s D23 Expo, the new partnership will look to create new all-ages animated projects that still manage to thrill and frighten.
“It is part of the Disney canon to create thrilling, unforgettable moments and villains in all their classic films,” del Toro said. “It is my privilege for DDY to continue in this tradition.”
Their first film together will be a film titled “Trollhunters,” which del Toro will fit into a schedule that already includes his “Hobbit” movies.
“I look forward to coming up with fresh and original stories that will take Disney films in a whole new direction,” he stated. “The emphasis is on fun, and we have some great ideas already on the storyboards.”
I feel this is great news as del Toro makes some excellent dark fairytales. Plus it gives Disney a chance to go a bit darker if need be which is good news for certain Marvel characters.
