According to STYD Relativity Media really likes Stephen Norrington’s (Blade) script for The Crow. Norrington has turned in his script and the film is moving forward. It looks as if they will start casting soon.
Word is that it will not be remake of the Brandon Lee picture, but a reboot featuring a new character. Norrington has already explained in past reports, “Whereas [Alex] Proyas’ original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style.”
I’m still not sure whether we need a reboot of The Crow, but I do like the sound of an documentary-style feel to a new version. I would prefer it is they didn’t actually follow The Crow but instead amp up the mythical side of him so that you barely see him but his (or maybe her) presence is everywhere.
