- The Avengers movie will shoot in Manhattan and have the SHIELD Helicarrier according to Bleeding Cool.
- A Superman rumour has it that Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopehr) will direct and Zachary Levi (Chuck) has auditioned for the role of Clark Kent according to Geek Tyrant.
- Marvel’s The Runaways is planning a January – July 2011 shoot according to Production Weekly.
- Tron Legacy had some reshoots last month. Normally this is a bad sign. However, new material for the reshoots was written by Pixar’s Brad Bird and Michael Arndt. EW had the news.
- A sequel to Despicable Me featuring Steve Carell is already in development according to Deadline.
- Ratatouille and other Pixar movies may be getting a 3D re-release.
- Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) is heading back to the big screen in Sex Ed by Isaac Feder. THR say Osment will play a college graduate who dreams of teaching high school Algebra but due to budget restraints, end up teaching sexual education, despite being a virgin. He discovers an unlikely mentor in a blues bar, a ruthless enemy in the local PTA, and a gorgeous Polish girl for whom English is a distant second language.
- Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!) is to star in Andrew Niccol’s new sci-fi film, I’m.mortal – Time has become the currency. The rich are immortal, while the rest struggle to stay alive. When a rebel from the ghetto is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he is forced to go on the run with beautiful hostage (Seyfried). Together, this duo rages against the system, living minute to minute. They discover that love is more powerful than all the time in the world – Variety.
- Brian Cox is in final negotiations to play the villain in Rise of the Apes for 20th Century Fox reports The Wrap. He would play the brutal and villainous owner of a primate sanctuary who runs the facility with no compassion for its animal inhabitants. James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow and Andy Serkis also star.
- Gillian Anderson is to join Rowan Atkinson in the sequel to Johnny English. She will play MI7 agent Pamela Head in the new film, which is set to start filming soon.
