Rise of an Exile – New sci-fi trilogy starring Lara Croft, Captain von Trapp, Sayid from Lost and Claudia Christian

I have just been sent the press release below about a new sci-film / trilogy called Rise of an Exile. Still early days on the film (nothing on IMDB yet), but it sounds like it has some potential and has a few good genre names attached.

“Rise of an Exile” is the story of a teen girl who is caught in a war between her own people and the humans she was created to protect.
In the 23rd Century AD, a brief was waged between an excommunicated geneticist and a world-spanning, sentient computer system of his own design. He creates a genetically-engineered race of humans to fight in his failed attempt, and upon his defeat his creations are hunted down and virtually eliminated. This gives rise to their common name, “Exiles.”

One unborn Exile, however, is saved by one of her own and raised in secret. The Exile, Jae Benedict, played by British actress Alison Carroll (Lara Croft model – see the main pic and the video below), grows up hiding in a world that wants to destroy her. Never knowing the truth of her people’s history, she lives in isolation until remnants of the original Exiles come to recruit her for an impending war. Though reluctant to fight against her own race or her adopted one, Jae soon finds her participation in the conflict is inevitable.

Former CBS News producer Jennifer Niejadlik just signed on as an actress and co-producer for the sci-fi trilogy “Rise of an Exile”. Niejadlik will play the role of Mrs. Gottschalk beside legendary actor Christopher Plummer who is slated to play protagonist Dane Marr Vo. Plummer is best known for his role as Captain von Trapp in “The Sound of Music” and recently in the film “The Last Station”. He also starred in “Syriana” with George Clooney and the list goes on.

Niejadlik’s character Mrs. Gottschalk is the assistant to Dane Marr Vo. She provides pivotal support in the plot and film. She often serves as Marr Vo’s conscience, guiding him morally and legally as the drama and tension escalate. Gottschalk gives her services and life to protect the “Exile” children she helped create.

Other key actors in “Rise of an Exile” are Claudia Christian (Babylon 5), James Holloway, Natasha Alam, Fann Wong, and Naveen Andrews from the ABC television series “Lost” who will play the role of Atticus Benedict. The film will be directed by Jayant Harnam who directed “Life is an Art” that showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2010. “Rise of an Exile” was written by Dale Easterling. The film will be shooting in Belgium, Morocco, and Singapore.
