Classic Scene: The Sting card game on the train

One of my all time favourite films. Just love it and a great scene.

On a train journey from New York to Chicago in the 1930,s, Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw) tries to cheat Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman) in a game of cards by fixing the deck. However Henry Gondorff is a conman and cheats Doyle Lonnegan instead.

From the movie “The Sting”. 1973. Directed by George Roy Hill. The film won 7 oscars, including best picture.

Those were the days. A popular film that was actually good.

(Newman deserves the rep as a great leading man. He really was a great actor. Robert Shaw is always fantastic too, though. Wow.)
