Calm down Chaps. Miss Jones is not in the corset and hot pants of the comic book Emma Frost.
This is the first glimpse of the Matthew Vaughn helmed X-Men: First Class. Mad Men’s January Jones is playing the psychic Emma Frost. In the comic she started off as the White Queen of The Hellfire Club – an evil organisation run by Sebastian Shaw who is supposedly the character Kevin Bacon is playing.
Vaughn described the plot as ‘The story that (producer) Bryan Singer came up with is very, very smart.
‘It’s very clever when you see how he has integrated the characters into the time period where the film is set. I’ll put it that way.
‘I just don’t want to give it away.
‘It’s a very clever way of getting these characters involved in recent history, in recent world events.’
As you can see from the photos the film is definitely set in the Sixties. Not sure whether it will work or whether there will be an Austin powers type vibe to the proceedings. They are not official stills though so you can never get a proper feeling from them.
The film also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne and Oliver Platt.
I am still not sure whether it will work or not, but will wait until I see something more. What are your thoughts on the look?
