A man infected with a deadly viral disease must cope with his newborn child in a savage world. He is joined in this odyssey by a woman he saves from near death and together they must brave a desperate new world. This black and white, non-verbal film follows this unlikely family as they must brave this horrible near-future and come to terms with their own fears and torments. Not for the faint of heart or squeamish, ‘The Defiled’ is reminiscent of Guy Maddin, David Lynch and Andrei Tarkovsky in this examination of love, death and sacrifice.
