Johnny Depp has been attached to numerous movies over the past couple of years. He is busy filming the new Pirates of the Caribbean film, but news is now out that the movie version of the 1960s vampire soap opera Dark Shadows will begin shooting next February.
Tim Burton is directing the script by John August and Seth Graham-Smith.
Depp will play 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, sealed in his coffin by his father in 1795 and inadvertently unleashed in the present where he must adjust to an entirely new world while passing himself off to relatives in Collinwood, Maine as a cousin from England.
Good to hear a date has been set, but I do feel that this one could go either way. Burton needs to tone down his Burtoness a bit just to change his style a little.
