Don Quixote – Trailer for first Chinese film shot in 3D

Nothing to do with Terry Gilliam’s on-off-on again Don Quixote movie. This one is in 3D and looks suitably epic.

Loosely based on the Spanish novel about the chivalrous knight Quixote’s adventures, the Chinese adaptation is set against the backdrop of the ancient Chang’an dynasty, but they’ve still managed to squeeze the scene in were Don Quixote attacks some windmills believing them to be (because they are!) giants in disguise.

Guo Tao stars as the knight, with Hong Kong actress Karena Lam starring as village girl Cui Hua, who he believes is a princess. Quixote falls deep in love with the girl and starts his journey to save her life. Don Quixote opens in China this Friday.
