Grant Morrison has finished writing Dominion: Dinosaurs vs Aliens which may be getting turned into a movie by Barry Sonnenfeld.
According to The Daily Record (via Bleeding Cool), Mr Morrison will then be turning his attention to another comic book character – Rogue Trooper.
After he’s put the finishing touches to the Dinosaurs vs Aliens script, a prolific Grant is creating a movie adaptation for Sam Worthington’s company.
Called Rogue Trooper, the project is based on a character from the popular British comic book series 2000AD.
The movie news comes as the writer has just completed the controversial reboot of Action Comics, which featured Superman’s debut in 1938, by offering a more contemporary interpretation of the Man of Steel.
Rogue Trooper was one of my favourite characters from 2000AD. The last survivor of a clone army, the blue skinned Rogue fought the good fight on Nu-Earth where he was adapted to survive the poisonous atmosphere. His only allys where the microchips containing the personalities of his former comrades and which now where houses on his rifle, helmet and backpack.
Sam Worthington’s Full Clip Production company are involved which could mean Worthington wants the role. I hope he doesn’t take it although I am not sure who would be best to play Rogue Trooper. Would Worthington want to go Blue again after Avatar?
The fact Morrison is writing it is brilliant news.
Who would you like as Rogue Trooper?
