Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and Chris Hardwick where at the New York Comic Con talking about The Avengers movie.
Iron Man 3 is being prepped at the moment and Kevin Feige said it was the first film in “the second phase of the Avengers initiative”.
There was also some new footage shown, but that has yet to reach the web. Instead here is a description of the footage via Bleeding Cool. Spoilers ahead.
The footage starts in… India. Surprising. This is where Doctor Banner has been, helping the sick. He’s gone two years without Hulking out.
A little girl comes running to him to get help. Somebody is sick. He follows her…
But it’s a trick. Black Widow is waiting. Bruce asks “How did you find me?” She says “We never lost you” and explains that Nick Fury has known exactly where he is, all along, but that they haven’t needed him until now.
But now they really need him. They’re trying to trace the gamma signature of the Tesseract, and he can help with this.
Will Bruce come quietly? Or is everything about to get smashed up? Well… it looks close, for a moment, but Banner chills and cedes to Ms. Romanoff’s request.
She gives the order to stand down… to a whole flock of SHIELD agents who were, until now, unseen. The heavily-armed Hulk contingency plan.
And then – bam – a montage. Fighting. Lots of fighting. The “I have an army”, “We have a Hulk” exchange from the D23 footage. Stark Tower. The Helicarrier. Fighting. Some more fighting.
At the end, Stark is shown teasing Banner about his anger management. Not amused, and worried that everything is about to get a lot more green, Cap asks Tony Stark “Is everything a joke a to you?”
Back comes a zing-ish, “Funny things are.”
