Transformers: Dark of the Moon made over $1 Billion at the box office and about the same in merchandise sales. That means that there will be more Transformers movies. When something makes that much there is no way you can not make more.
Michael Bay had said he would not be making anymore yet Hasbro chief Brian Goldner said during a Monday third-quarter earnings call that the toymaker is in “active discussions” with Paramount, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg on how to move forward.
That does not mean Bay will direct any more of the movies, but he will help guide them.
Paramount, which licenses “Transformers” film rights from Hasbro, is considering filming its fourth and fifth films without pause. This means they would save money making both films as no messing around renegotiating contracts, rebuilding sets etc. Screenwriter Ehren Kruger is said to have an idea for the next films that the studio like according to Variety.
Shia LaBeouf will not be returning and the rumour of Jason Statham stepping in has surfaced once more even though he has not yet been approached.
Would you want another Transformers movie? If Michael Bay does not direct who would be the perfect directer to make the Transformers movie you want to see? How can they improve the series? What Autobots and Decepticons would you like in the new films – Dinobots?
