The new version of Oldboy is moving ahead. Many people are asking why it is being made, but I am curious to see what Spike Lee will do with it. Don’t forget that the manga has lots more to it than the previous film used.
A synopsis has surfaced for the film which will star Josh Brolin. It is not that different from the other film in that it just gives us the basic set up.
A man kidnapped and imprisoned on his daughter’s birthday is held captive for fifteen years. Upon his release he embarks on an obsessive mission to find the reason for his imprisonment and soon finds out that his kidnapper has plans for him more tortuous than solitary confinement.
