Do you know the difference between a civilian and a citizen?
Back in October I posted the news and a poster for a new Starship Troopers sequel called Invasion. This was a fully CGI film and that worked for me.
It now appears that along with Robocop and Total Recall, Sony want to do a a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 Starship Troopers.
Sony Pictures producer Neal Moritz has decided that the time has come for a reboot according to Vulture. He has assigned the script to screenwriters Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, who, among other things, wrote Thor and X-Men: First Class, as well as many episodes of the TV shows Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe.
I find it a bit odd if they are just going to remake the 1997 film considering all the sequels. I can only assume they will go back to the original novel by Robert A. Heinlein which was quite a bit different to the film version.
Either way I am onboard for more and as I always say “Shoot a nuke down a bug hole, you got a lot of dead bugs.”
Do you want new Starship Troopers?
