There is still no word on what villain Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise will be going up against in the next Star Trek movie.
When Benicio del Toro was rumoured to be in the running for J J Abrams film everyone thought Khan. Del Toro was not cast and then Edgar Ramirez was mentioned.
Now things have got very interesting as Variety report that Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch has landed the villain role. This is excellent news as Benedict is a cracking actor. He can currently be seen in War Horse and is also working on The Hobbit as the voice of Smaug the Dragon.
Noel Clarke (Doctor Who, Kidulthood) is another UK actor who has been cast in the film.
All in all Star Trek 2 is shaping up very nicely.
How do you feel about Benedict Cumberbatch going up against Kirk? What character will he be playing?
