I last mentioned Everly back in May 2011.
Described as a mix of Panic Room, Crank and Kill Bill it is to be directed by Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom).
Everly centers on a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, who must fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss.
The majority of the film is set in one room. The camera will never leave the apartment although it will be able to look out into the corridor and out of windows.
Variety have the news that Kate Hudson has been attached to play Everly. This will be a bit of a departure for Hudson as he break out role in Almost Famous followed by numerous romantic comedies don’t really make her spring to mind as an action hero. That may actually benefit the film making it more awe inspiring when she starts killing assassins with household implements.
