A while back I interviewed Keith Hodder about his grindhouse trailer, Van Gore.
He recently got in touch to let me know about the new feature he is working on called Shift.
Sometimes the road of life leads you in an unexpected direction. Recent university graduate Ryan Stewart travels to Toronto with dreams of big success, but instead comes face to face with harsher realities. Jobless and out of money, Ryan must meet disappointment and defeat and make the long drive back home to eastern Canada. But things take a different turn when he picks up a clever and manipulative hitchhiker who begins to test Ryan’s emotional and psychological limits along the way. Before long, Ryan finds he must confront not only his dangerous passenger but his own personal problems as well.
The trailer does not tell us much about the film, but gives a good feel as to what to expect. Going from the synopsis it sounds like a mix of Into the Wild meets The Hitcher which is no bad thing.
