A cool new poster is out for J J Abrams’ second Star Trek movie. I assume that is Benedict Cumberbatch’s character walking through the destruction.
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
UPDATE: With all the talk of the poster being similar to The Dark Knight Rises (it has got buildings falling apart) this image, via reddit, shows that as usual with movie posters there are many similar ones from previous films.
Apparently Peter Sciretta of /Film put together the various posters to show the similarity of the new Trek one. So thanks to all the studios and designers who put the poster together, thanks to Peter for putting them all in one place and thanks to the redditor who who uploaded it to Imgur.
Here is peter’s tweet about it:
