Christopher Nolan may make a time travel movie. Do we have to go deeper?

christopher-nolanChristopher Nolan has finished his Batman series. He can pick and choose whatever he would like to do next.

According to THR, his next film could be another one written by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, and is called Interstellar.

The story involves time travel and alternate dimensions, and sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. The script is based on scientific theories developed by Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech.

Steven Spielberg had been attached to direct the film at one point.

The brief story description does seem to fit in with Nolan’s previous films where there is a complex plot with different layers.

Unfortunately, the more I see of Christopher Nolan’s films the more I get a feeling of the Emperor’s New Clothes. Memento is still a great film, but as time goes on his films have a cold style to them and are not as clever as they think they are. Coupled with poor editing and baffling plot decisions means that I just cannot get much enthusiasm going for this latest project despite the fact I love time travel and wormholes in my stories.

We shall have to wait and see.
