Gremlins remake is moving ahead

There has been talk of a Gremlins remake / reboot for a while, but now it appears that Warner Bros are moving ahead with it.

Seth Grahame-Smith will produce alongside David Katzenberg according to Bloody Disgusting. Smith wrote Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and recently completed his draft for the studio’s next Beetlejuice.

The original holiday classic was directed by Joe Dante and followed a boy, played by Zach Galligan, who inadvertently breaks 3 important rules concerning his new pet Mogwai and unleashes a horde of malevolent mischievous monsters on a small town.

There is no word on whether Grahame-Smith will be writing the screenplay for the remake or who will be directing it.

How do you feel about a new Gremlins film? What would you like to see in it?
