Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson have all portrayed Frank Castle, aka The Punisher

We last saw the character in the short film, Dirty Laundry, with Thomas Jane (my favourite of the bunch) returning to the role.

While the rights to the character are back with Marvel Studios, they have no current plans for a new Punisher movie.

In the meantime the Punisher is now back in this fan film, The Dead Can’t Be Distracted.

This visually stunning fan film is a brand new take on the Punisher inspired by the recent series by Greg Rucka. The film stars newcomer Nick Apostolides as a younger, more rugged Castle who shares screen time with Evalena Marie (Steve Niles’ Remains) as Sergeant Cole-Alves.

Filmmakers Ian McFarland & Mike Pecci are known worldwide for their acclaimed and award winning music videos (Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, and CZARFACE), beautiful mini-docs (UFC Fighter -Dan Hardy, Artist / Converge frontman – Jacob Bannon, and Illustrator -Ben Templesmith), and dark narrative films.

Director Mike Pecci has been directing horror and Grindhouse films for years. His award winning violent films have been described as a mix of Tarantino and Nicolas Winding Refn.

Although it is just a very short teaser trailer it does look fantastic. Definitely looking forward to seeing a lot more of this.
