Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky, and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins.
Here is the most recent synopsis for the film:
NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood.
I wonder if the six-armed angels from earlier descriptions and Aronofsky’s graphic novel (see below) on which the film is based have been cut from the film entirely. Here is an older synopsis:
Subject to divine visions foretelling the end of the world, Noah attempts to tell his people to cease their mistreatment of the earth in order to be saved. No one listens to his warnings, and Noah and his family are cast out to fend for themselves in the wilderness. Noah approaches a race of giant six-armed angels known as the “Watchers” to rally them to his cause.
I know the studio wanted cuts made and it may well have been the more fantastical elements such as the Watchers and the fantastical creatures that did not make it onto the ark. None of them have been shown in any of the trailers.
It is due out on March 28th, 2014.
