JoaquinPhoenixGood news for those of you who do not like the screenplays of David Goyer. It appears that Warner Bros are getting Argo’s Chris Terrio to write a new draft of the Batman vs Superman film.

As you will know, Terrio worked with Ben Afleck on Argo which won lots of awards so, fingers crossed, we will get a splendid script out of this.

In case you did not know (where have you been?) Zack Snyder is directing, Ben Affleck is Batman, Henry Cavill is Superman, Amy Adams is Lois Lane, Gal Gadot is set to play Diana (aka Wonder Woman). It also looks like Jason Momoa (Bullet To The Head, Conan the Barbarian) is in talks to star.

“What about this whole Joaquin Phoenix as Lex Luthor?” I hear you cry.

Well, Variety report that Warner Bros are in very early talks in the hope that he will join the production.

Even if the offer does go out to him, there is no guarantee Phoenix would accept the role. As for what the role is, nobody really knows, so of course the first thought is Lex Luthor. I don’t really see Phoenix as Luthor, although I am sure he would do an incredible job.

There you have it. That is the current situation with Batman vs Superman.

Would you like to see Phoenix play Luthor?

Batman vs Superman is due out on 17th July 2015.
