This is the first official photo from the new CBS Sherlock Holmes show, Elementary. There have been on-set photos, but this gives us the first glimpse of the vibe they are going for.

Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting, Dexter, Eli Stone) will be playing the role of Sherlock Holmes, an eccentric Brit Sherlock Holmes is a former consultant to Scotland Yard whose addiction problems led him to a rehab center in New York City. Lucy Liu (Ally McBeal, Charlie’s Angels) will be playing the role of Joan Watson, a former surgeon who lost her license after a patient died while consulting for the New York Police Department. The two live together in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York.

Aidan Quinn will be playing Captain Gregson.

This is more like it. Instead of a trailer which gives away more of the film this new video for Prometheus harkens back to the great TED Talk by Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce).

The new vid, Quiet Eye, has Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) trying to speak to Weyland.

On a marketing level I enjoy this type of thing more as it doesn’t spoil the film, it simply adds to the world of the movie.

I like the fact it is being sent to the Weyland Corporation but it appears that it is Yutani who appear to be looking at it.

A great piece of cosplay for DC’s revamped version of Supergirl.

He only played the role once in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service but he did have a heartbreaking time with Diana Rigg.

The video game sequence will feature in an episode called “Digital Estate Planning”. This is the season 3 finale featuring the Greendale Seven rendered as characters in a video game, which they’ll play against Giancarlo Esposito in a quest to secure Pierce’s inheritance.

Cannonball! Hard to believe it is all going ahead. Here is the first poster for Anchorman 2 and it is all very exciting.

We can see the feet of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner who are all back. They also got together to film a special teaser trailer which is supposed to be showing in front of The Dictator.

Variety has reported that Steve Kloves, the writer who adapted all seven Harry Potter books for the screen, is set to write, direct, and produce a remake of The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling’s 1894 novel. The movie will be distributed by Warner Brothers, which has worked for several years to bring the classic story back to life.

Kloves, whose work on the Harry Potter franchise drew widespread acclaim, has not directed a film since Flesh and Bone garnered mixed reviews in 1993. He made his directorial debut with The Fabulous Baker Boys, a 1989 production that did well at the box office and helped launch his career.

At this point, it is impossible to know what sort of remake Kloves and Warner Brothers have in mind. The Jungle Book has been made into several live-action films since Disney released its famous animated version back in 1967. These live-action iterations have been short on both quality and faithfulness — and few have performed well among audiences — thus suggesting that Kloves may try for a new approach this time around.

For those unfamiliar with the Rudyard Kipling original, the book is a collection of fables that use a large cast of animals to teach morals and depict life in the wild. The most famous fable involves the story of Mowgli, a boy who is raised in the jungle by animals. That story formed the heart of Disney’s animated original.

Despite the lack of details thus far, we can speculate several main pros and cons regarding the directorial pick.

Pros:

-After Harry Potter, Kloves has a reputation for being faithful to the source material, a trait previous Jungle Book productions have lacked.

-The combination of Kloves and Warner Brothers may add a darker tone to The Jungle Book that appeals to modern viewers.

-A strong writer and a classic piece of literature are always an intriguing match – especially in a quality-weak movie market.

Cons:

-Do we really want a remake faithful to the original plot? Such a remake would probably best appeal to an older demographic of people that belong to credit unions and prefer slower films (ie, not your typical movie-going crowd).

-Work on this film will likely divert Klove’s attention from the much-anticipated The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-Time, another literary adaptation that he will write and direct.

-It will be difficult for Kloves to escape the shadow of Disney’s 1967 film, especially considering that merchandise from the film – ranging from stuffed toys to credit cards with no interest rates – still hold an appeal.

So is the world ready for another Jungle Book remake? Can Klovis honor the source material while also targeting a modern audience? These are difficult questions to answer – but, in the next few years, we’re sure to find out.

I like Star Wars, cool tattoos and this ticks both boxes. Hopefully it looks as good when finished.
